Sakshi’s partnership with global brands through TiC in the textile industry has revolutionized gender norms and created safe workspaces in factories across Tamil Nadu, Darjeeling, and Kerala. At present, it is expanding this work, advocating for inclusive infrastructure and innovative solutions that promote both sustainable practices and gender equality in industries.
Sakshi aims to reshape industries by promoting gender-inclusive innovation, ensuring that the workforce and workplace infrastructure reflect true equality and sustainability.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
Themes: LGBTQIA Rights, Human Rights, Workplace Diversity & Inclusion, Access to Justice, Transformational Leadership, Economic Empowerment, Behavior Change Communication
Sakshi has long championed the dismantling of systemic inequalities through a rights-based, survivor-led approach to justice and inclusion. Whether through its judicial education programs across five countries or its landmark role in Vishaka v. State of Rajasthan, Sakshi has consistently foregrounded equity in both law and lived experience. Its interventions across the textile sector, tea gardens, gig economy, and educational institutions are anchored in dismantling caste, class, gender, and identity-based hierarchies.
Presently, initiatives like The Rakshin Project are enabling 4 million+ youth to become upstanders against child sexual abuse and gender-based violence, helping reframe inclusion not just as representation, but as everyday accountability.
As Sakshi moves forward, it aims to build a cross-sectoral framework of inclusive leadership, capacity-building, and safe ecosystems that affirm the dignity and rights of LGBTQIA persons, informal workers, and other historically marginalized groups.
