A distinguished mountaineer and a pioneering figure in women's adventure sports in India, she is a founding member of the Women Adventure Network of India and the National Adventure Foundation. Honored with India's first National Adventure Award, she has also been recognized as the "Nagpur Hero" by the Times of India. She has completed 25+ major Himalayan expeditions, led heroic rescue of 12 mountaineers during the Kedarnath tragedy and did a trans Himalayan expedition of 4977 kms in 2022.
